G'DAY

My name is Brendan Cohen, I'm an animal biologist, science communicator and wildlife filmmaker. I’m motivated to use the power of storytelling and multi-media to bridge the gap between field research and public knowledge.

Whether in the field, behind a camera, or working with scientists and creatives, my goal is to inspire curiosity, promote scientific research and strengthen the nexus between wildlife and storytelling.

Four words to describe me: I'm extroverted, instinctively curious, highly collaborative and vision-orientated.

My Work

My work translates complex biological and ecological information into engaging and visually captivating narratives that connect people with the natural world.

Storytelling - I’m well versed in both photography and videography, with experiences capturing stories in diverse, harsh and technically challenging environments. I’m also interested in immersive exhibits and 360° VR experiences, and their potential to revolutionize wildlife filmmaking and science storytelling.

Science - My research focus is evolutionary biology, ecology and behaviour. I’m interested in animal adaptions and how different species adapt to changing environmental conditions, such as climate change or altering ecological dynamics, such as predator-prey interactions. I also have a deep fascination and soft spot for biomimicry.
